Here we take a basic look at human need and then extend that to Senior Living. Many may be familiar with the diagram below commonly known as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist who created the diagram. The purpose is to illustrate the order of which human beings prioritize their needs. At the bottom represents the most basic of needs beginning with the need to breathe, eat, drink and sleep – the body’s most essential functions. As the pyramid ascends, we see the needs for safety followed by the emotional needs and then culminating in the hire cognitive functions.
